PERSONAL DESCRIPTION

Hello! I'm Edson Paiva, Independent Contractor, expert Electrical Engineer with over 40 years of extensive experience in analog and digital projects.

I have managed my own company in Brazil (BPS) for over thirty years until I was invited to work and live in the USA. Currently my two sons, Electrical Engineers too, are in charge of the company BPS - Brazil.

My working experience covers a wide variety of project scopes including:
• Embedded system hardware and firmware development.
• Custom Graphical User Interface (GUI) software.
• Electronic circuits design in general, especially Audio and RF circuits, Communications, and IoT.
• Schematic and PCB layout design.
• Development of custom web systems, designed specifically to fulfill unique customer needs.

Firmware development for Microcontrollers Embedded Systems requires an in-depth knowledge of the processor architecture and all the different associated components.
Firmware must include all peripheral's drivers, algorithms to do the main job, and many other tasks to manage inputs, outputs, interrupts, and memory access.

Custom GUI Software

A graphical user interface (GUI) is a type of user interface through which users interact with electronic devices via visual indicator representations as opposed to text-based commands.
A Custom GUI Software can be written, using different programming languages, for any device which has a monitor or display. 

Audio & RF Circuits Design

RF Circuits Design is an art in Electrical Engineering, only after spending several years playing with discrete components and designing circuits you are able to call yourself a RF Designer.
Every piece of circuit must be designed based on many years of experience and needs prototyping and extensive testing to be reliability approved.

Schematic & PCB Design

Schematic is the circuit design basis. The PCB editing software can import from the schematic all of the components, footprints, and wires, which will make the PCB design process easier and reliable.
PCB layout and design is a specialist skill requiring knowledge of not only of the PCB design software, but also a variety of standards used to ensure that the final design can be manufactured with no problems.
