Description

During the years 2015 to 2019, we developed, together with the engineering team of Communications Specialists Inc., several Radio Telemetry Projects like Transmitters, Universal Programmers, Data Transceivers, Data Repeaters and others devices.

The designed Telemetry Transmitters can be programmed to operate as a CW Pulse Transmitter, as a Data Transmitter, or in both modes simultaneously.
Most transmitters have a sensor chip with integrated Accelerometer and Magnetometer used to activate the transmitter via a magnet and also detect variations in position and movement.

Most of the firmware was developed using C. Assembly language was used in some algorithms to make the firmware faster and more efficient.

The following images show and describe some of the developed Radio Telemetry Products.

The Multi Programmer HP2-LAB programs all Radio Telemetry Products. It configures parameters such as Frequency, Pulse Width and Rate, RF Output Power, TCXO Adjustment, Accelerometer Sensitivity, etc. If a product is close to HP2, when the product is powered on, it is automatically detected by the programmer and enters the OTA (over the air) programming mode.
The CSI Data Transceiver was designed to receive and transmit digital data directly or through data repeaters. Data repeaters are tiny transceivers mounted together with the antenna on a tall pole. A narrowband proprietary protocol is used for the data transmission. The Data Transceiver stores the last 100 incoming data packets and can be programmed to emit alarms or beeps for each type of status received.

In the year 2015, I designed the schematic and PCB layout for a Radio Telemetry Development Board which was extremely useful and extensively used. All Radio Telemetry Products had their firmware developed and tested using this device.
